Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival in China, is the most important traditional holiday in China. Chinese New Year 2017 begins a year of the Rooster.
Today I have made a card in honour of all those who celebrate this wonderful event. The rooster is from the stamp set Hey Chick (available for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration); and the money envelope is from the Sending Love Suite.
The Chinese regard red as the symbol of energy, happiness and good luck. Sending red envelopes is a way to send good wishes and luck.
In China, the red envelope is called yasui qian (压岁钱 /yaa-sway chyen/), which means ‘suppressing ghosts money’. Those who receive a red envelope are wished another safe and peaceful year.
So to you my lovely blog followers I wish you a safe & peaceful year.
Kind sentiments
Linda xx
